And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

-Mat 9:20-21

On one occasion, a woman with an incurable bleeding condition came up behind Jesus and touched Him. She heard that healing power was coming forth from Jesus, and so she said, “If I can just touch Him I will be healed.” Then she came to Him acting on her faith.

Some would say, “Isn’t that wonderful how Jesus healed that woman?” But Jesus didn’t heal her. His faith didn’t heal her. Jesus said, “Woman, be of good comfort, your faith has made you whole” (verse 22). She was healed before Jesus knew fully what happened. She initiated her healing. She activated God’s power on her behalf, and that is an amazing thought!

If you are waiting for God to deliver you from an affliction, you may have a long wait. But if you will rise up in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, acting on what the Word of God says, God will respond to you. God loves faith in His people. He will do for you, and your faith, what He did for this woman. Faith moves God.
